Tuscan Lakes Welcomes On-Site Lifestyle Director

(League City, Texas – May 27, 2009) With a host of planned events and other activities, Tuscan Lakes’ new lifestyle director will hit the ground running when she joins the community June 15.

In fact, Robin Mitchell’s first event — a poolside party where she will meet Tuscan Lakes residents — takes place before she officially begins.

Mitchell will office on-site in the League City community. She already has plans for a Fourth of July extravaganza, water aerobics classes and resident daytrips.

“I’d like to hold five or more major resident events annually, as well as ongoing activities throughout the year such as walking groups or book clubs,” Mitchell said. “I’m planning on surveying residents and really want to organize a diverse slate of enticing activities that will spark everyone’s interest.”

“We’re very excited to have Robin join our staff,” said Tuscan Lakes general manager Bob Douglas. “Having an on-site recreation director is another way Tuscan Lakes supports it residents and we’re all looking forward to some great events and activities.”

Before coming to Tuscan Lakes, Mitchell was a fitness director for Risher Fitness Management, planning and supervising programs and events at various recreation facilities. She also worked in the Missouri City Parks and Recreation Department and was volunteer chair and event coordinator for the International Festival of Fort Bend.

Born in Galveston and raised in Stafford, Mitchell is quite familiar with the Houston area. She holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science, with an emphasis on health and wellness promotion, from Texas State University.

An 870-acre mixed-use development, Tuscan Lakes offers homes from the $170,000s to more than $1 million. Architectural elements reminiscent of the Tuscany region of Italy are integrated into amenities and common areas and include an aqueduct at its main entrance, parks, resort-style pools, lakes, nature preserves, water features, greenbelts, walkways and jogging trails. Residents enjoy a multi-use swimming pool, a gathering space anchored by a massive stone fireplace, playgrounds and a community trail system.
