The GHBA is ready to assist during the rebuilding process with a number of helpful articles and tips that will take you from post-flood clean-up to hiring a reputable contractor.
The State Bar of Texas

The State Bar of Texas legal hotline helps people find answers to basic legal questions by connecting them with local legal aid providers following declared disasters.
United Way Relief Fund
The United Way Relief Fund will assist with current and long-term recovery efforts.
Greater Houston Community Fund
Accepts tax-deductible flood relief donations for victims affected by the recent floods.
Crisis Cleanup
Are you with a relief organization and want to volunteer your team or work crew? Crisis Cleanup is where the voluntary organizations are coordinating for short-term recovery work such as cleaning houses.
Team Rubicon
By pairing the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders, medical professionals and technology solutions, Team Rubicon aims to provide the greatest service and impact possible. Three-hundred and thirty Greyshirts have deployed to Texas in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, with hundreds more providing remote support.
All Hands Volunteers
All Hands Volunteers will be on the ground for at least the next two years, helping families recover from Harvey. Support their efforts through donations and offers to come and volunteer.
Houston Food Bank
The Houston Food Bank is open and in need of volunteers. You can also help by donating money and ready-to-eat staples such as like pop-top meat/fish, powdered milk, cereal, canned fruit, fruit cups, peanut butter and jelly.
Feeding Texas
Food banks are currently requesting monetary donations instead of food, which will enable them to provide assistance where it is needed the most. Feeding Texas is a statewide charitable organization that works alongside state and federal relief efforts during major disasters.
The Texas Diaper Bank
Based in San Antonio, the Texas Diaper Bank focuses works to meet the needs of babies, children with disabilities and seniors by providing diapers and other goods.
SPCA of Texas
The SPCA of Texas has organized pet evacuations and offers resources on pet-friendly housing for evacuees. The organization has specifically requested financial donations.
Houston Pets Alive!
Lists the many ways you can help displaced pets.
There are many, many more organizations and agencies working to provide aid to the affected area. Before you give, be sure to do some basic research on the charity as many scams pop up during natural disasters. One place to start is Charity Navigator.
