Tuscan Lakes Nears Close-out with Handful of Homes

Just over 15 years from when Johnson Development broke ground on the 875-acre Tuscan Lakes, the League City community is nearing the end of its development cycle with only 10 homes remaining.

Westin Homes is the remaining builder in the community, which opened in 2005 with 11 new-home builders. The remaining homes range in pricing from the $350,000s to more than $660,000.

“It’s been rewarding to navigate the development of this project from its inception to today,” said Bob Douglas, General Manager of Tuscan Lakes. “What started as a concept rooted in the European countryside is now a thriving hometown for residents, businesses and more.”

Approximately 1,850 families make their home in Tuscan Lakes, located along League City Parkway (State Highway 96) near State Highway 3 and Interstate 45.

“As Tuscan Lakes has grown, so has League City,” Douglas said. “The number of people moving here has brought more shopping, more dining and more conveniences to the area.”

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the population of League City was 60,795 in 2005, the year Johnson Development broke ground in Tuscan Lakes. In 2016, population numbers stood at 106,244.

Architectural elements reminiscent of the Tuscany region of Italy can be found throughout the development including the entry aqueduct and amenities. Landscaping incorporates trees and plants indigenous to the Tuscany region that also fare well in Houston’s climate, including Italian cypress trees. Approximately 225 acres in the community are dedicated to lakes, open space, water features and amenities.

Tuscan Lakes is one of 17 active Johnson Development communities found in Houston, Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth and Atlanta. More information about Tuscan Lakes can be found at www.tuscanlakes.com.
